Privacy Policy

BuyWatch ("BuyWatch," "we," "us," or "our") operates macbuywatch.com (product funnel) and buywatchhq.com (HQ), and related alert channels. BuyWatch (buywatchhq.com) is the service operator. Contact: hello@buywatchhq.com.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using BuyWatch websites or services, you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are and what we do

BuyWatch provides notify-only alerts about scarce Mac and GPU product availability. We may send alerts by email, Telegram, and Discord. We do not place Apple or retailer orders for you. We do not currently send SMS/text messages.

2. Information we collect

Account and purchase information

• Name or display name you provide
• Email address
• Payment confirmation details from Stripe (for example, customer ID, subscription status, product purchased, amount paid, and payment timestamps). We do not store full payment card numbers; Stripe processes card data.
• Product or watch type you purchased (for example, Product launch watch or Back in stock watch)
• Channel preferences and connection status (email, Telegram user/chat ID, Discord membership where applicable)

Communications and support

• Messages you send us (email, Telegram replies such as CANCEL, Discord DMs or support threads)
• Onboarding and setup status

Technical and usage data

• IP address, browser type, device type, and approximate location derived from IP
• Pages visited, referring URL, and basic analytics events on our sites
• Cookies or similar technologies needed for site function, security, and (if enabled) analytics

We do not request Social Security numbers, government IDs, or full card PANs. We do not offer SMS alerts and do not collect phone numbers for SMS delivery.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Service (monitoring, alert delivery, onboarding)
• Process payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe
• Send transactional messages related to your purchase (receipts, setup, LIVE alert beats, service notices)
• Respond to support requests and enforce our Terms
• Detect abuse, fraud, and security issues
• Comply with law and respond to lawful requests
• With your consent or as otherwise permitted, send limited product updates about BuyWatch services you already use

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not rent email lists.

4. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run BuyWatch:

• Stripe — Hosted Checkout, payment processing, subscriptions, invoices, Customer Portal (when enabled). See stripe.com/privacy.
• Email providers (e.g. Resend, Zoho) — Deliver transactional and alert emails
• Telegram — Deliver bot alerts via @BuyWatchAlertsBot when you connect Telegram
• Discord — Deliver alerts in Josh's BuyWatch Discord server channels (for example broadcast #live) when you join
• Hosting / infrastructure — Store and serve our websites and application data
• Professional advisors / legal — Only if reasonably necessary
• Authorities — When required by law or to protect rights and safety

Third-party platforms (Apple product pages, retailers, Telegram, Discord, Stripe) have their own privacy policies. BuyWatch is not affiliated with Apple Inc.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe Checkout (hosted). Card data is collected and processed by Stripe under Stripe's terms and privacy policy. BuyWatch does not store full card numbers on its servers.

6. Communications and stopping alerts

Channels

• Email — transactional and alert messages related to your watch
• Telegram — bot alerts via @BuyWatchAlertsBot
• Discord — membership in Josh's BuyWatch server; some LIVE updates are broadcast in channels such as #live
• SMS — we do not currently send SMS or phone-based marketing texts

Stopping LIVE update beats (Telegram)

During a LIVE alert window, you may reply CANCEL in Telegram to stop further email and Telegram beats for that LIVE. Discord #live (and similar broadcast channels) are not muted by CANCEL; leave the server or mute the channel in Discord if you do not want broadcast messages.

Account, billing, and broader opt-out

Email inbound CANCEL is not automated at this time. For account changes, billing help, deletion requests, or to stop BuyWatch communications generally, contact hello@buywatchhq.com. When available, you may also manage billing through the Stripe Customer Portal.

Marketing-style emails (if any) will include a clear way to opt out, consistent with CAN-SPAM. Transactional messages needed to deliver a paid service may continue until the service ends or you cancel as described above.

7. Retention

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including:

• Active watches — while your product is active and for a reasonable period afterward for support and records
• Product launch watches — on or after the day following a completed launch go-live, launch clients may be removed from active alert lists; we may retain purchase and communication records as needed for accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, and legal obligations
• Back in stock subscriptions — while the subscription is active and for a reasonable period after cancellation or failed payment ends the subscription
• Legal / tax / dispute records — as required by law or reasonably necessary

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the Service (for example TLS for websites, restricted access to operational systems, and Stripe for card handling). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

Our sites may use:

• Essential cookies for security, load balancing, and basic site function
• Analytics cookies or scripts (if enabled) to understand traffic and improve pages

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect site function.

10. California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to:

• Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
• Request deletion of personal information (subject to exceptions)
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
• Limit use of sensitive personal information (we do not seek sensitive PI for the core Service)
• Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood (we do not exchange it for money). We also do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as a BuyWatch business practice. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide required notices.

To exercise rights, email hello@buywatchhq.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request" and enough detail for us to verify and respond. We will respond within the timeframes required by law.

Notice at collection: We collect the categories listed in Section 2 for the business purposes in Section 3. We retain information as described in Section 7.

11. International visitors (including EEA / UK)

BuyWatch is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S. (including the EEA or UK), your information may be processed in the United States and other countries that may have different data-protection laws.

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we typically rely on one or more of: performance of a contract (providing the Service you purchased), legitimate interests (security, service improvement, fraud prevention), consent (where required), and legal obligations. You may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact hello@buywatchhq.com. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

12. Children's privacy

The Service is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). If you believe a child provided information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page; we may also notify you by email or through the Service when appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
